Chris Gumble
I am the Practice Manager at Mayfield Surgery, responsible for the day-to-day leadership, operational management, and long-term development of the practice. My role is to ensure the surgery runs safely, efficiently, and sustainably so that our clinical teams can focus on delivering high-quality care to our patients.
Mayfield Surgery sits at the heart of the Roehampton community, and that matters to me. I grew up locally and have deep embedded routes in the local community.
At Mayfield, we care for a diverse local population with a wide range of needs, and I am committed to making sure the services we provide are accessible, responsive, and rooted in an understanding of our community. I work closely with our GP partners, clinical staff, and wider NHS colleagues to make sure local needs are reflected in how we plan, organise, and deliver care.
My background is in NHS service improvement and primary care management, with a strong focus on access, governance, workforce support, and improving systems and workflows. I am particularly interested in creating clear, practical processes that reduce pressure on staff while improving the experience for patients.
I believe good leadership in general practice is about balance. Supporting staff, being honest about constraints, listening to patients, and continually trying to do better, even when resources are stretched. My aim is to ensure Mayfield Surgery remains a safe, caring, and resilient practice that our patients and staff can trust.
