NHS App Notifications
Turn on your NHS app notifications to stay informed
Important
Recent data shows that an alarming 48% of NHS app messages sent by the practice last month were not read. This means that many patients may be missing important updates about their care.
We increasingly use the NHS app to send important information such as:
- Updates about your care or treatment
- Appointment information and reminders
- Responses to queries or advice requests
The NHS app is designed to notify you when a new message arrives, but you will only receive these alerts if notifications are enabled on your device. Without notifications switched on, you may not realise that a message has been sent to you unless you open the app and check manually.
We strongly encourage all patients using the NHS app to check that notifications are turned on.
To enable notifications:
- Open the NHS App
- Tap the Account icon
- Select Notifications
- Follow the link to your device settings and allow notifications
Please note that changes can take up to 24 hours to take effect, and that you may need to enable notifications on each device you use.
Turning on notifications is a simple but important step to ensure you receive messages as soon as they are sent, avoid missing important updates, and stay fully informed about your health and care.
